-Mission-

I believe that great art and design should be available to anyone who finds value in it, no matter their socio-economic status. My mission is to deliver that service to others while mastering my craft. In 2019 I decided to form the “Marshall Linton Design LLC”. This was a necessary step for me to take to realize my ultimate goal of sharing the beauty that I see around me and creating artwork that is truly accessible. I enjoy working with individual collectors, small businesses, and nonprofits to provide creative services in the form of paintings, murals, and illustrations.

I strive to create a sense of visual tension and a creative juxtaposition between components of my paintings. This can be observed in the way I create contrast and harmony between the graphic gray scale of a figure and vibrant color and form of the surrounding elements. The combination of grey scale and color creates what has been likened to “Contemporary Pop-art”. Drawing inspiration from a multitude of sources, including graffiti, nature photography, album covers, graphic design, and modern art, I strive to be the synthesis of all these elements while conveying my own unique experience.

-History-

Marshall was born and raised in Doylestown, PA. From a young age, He was heavily interested in design and the arts. He was always fascinated in capturing a different perspective on the world that surrounded him and sharing that with others. He would use any tool available to me to express his creativity and tell a story. Marshall’s mother is of Colombian descent and his father is of German and English descent. This multifaceted aspect of himself and his lineage has always been incredibly important to him on his artistic journey.

Fascinated with the vibrant and dynamic culture of city life, Marshall gravitated towards the urban center of Philadelphia. In 2004, He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Photography from the University of Arts in Philadelphia. While at University Marshall expanded his repertoire of skills to include various mediums, including painting, graphic design, film, printmaking, illustration, and stone carving.

Later, looking for a more rounded sense of design and its real world applications, Marshall began studying Industrial Design. In 2016, He obtained a Master’s degree in Industrial Design from Jefferson University in Philadelphia. While enrolled he worked on various group and Individual projects, where he developed many skills including, project management, prototype development, sketching, research, woodworking, and 3-D CAD modeling.

Would you like a visually striking representation of a beloved animal, musician, historical figure, family member, or pet for your home, workplace or business? One of Marshall’s paintings would be undoubtedly a conversation starter for guests and an opportunity for you to display your unique taste and style.
